- Abstraction is taking a complex "something" and getting rid of all of the irrelavent details to make the "something" more easily understandable.
- One example of abstraction is a mobile app. A mobile app contains many different programming and design components that the end-user doesn't necessarily care about or need to know. The end-user just cares that they downloaded an app to perform a specific function and it should perform that function.
2. Give 2-3 examples of abstractions in everyday life not identified in the lecture.

-Glasses are an example of abstraction. They can be simplified to Plastic, Glass and so on when in reality the lenses are finely tuned to an exact specification to meet the customers needs

Answer
The standard flash light application included on many phones is an abstraction. On the surface, it is a simple button used to trigger the camera flash to be used as a light though on the inside, there are many more complex interactions between circuits and other things that allow the flashlight to be lit. This goes back to the explanation of the map. it represents much less than the world actually is.
