The internet connects all networks together into one massive network that are governed by protocols. The WWW is an application that runs on the internet and stores documents, images, and other resources.
2. (POGIL) List a beneficial effect and a harmful effect for a social media app that you discussed in your POGIL group. Are the effects on society, culture, or economics? Include a screenshot of the Venn diagram you made with your group.
Answer
I think social media apps mainly affects society and culture. They are the most popular apps amongst young adults nowadays. If they are used correctly that can have plenty of beneficial effect, but if teens are addicted to it, it might harm their health.
3. (POGIL) If you were a developer of one of the social media apps that you discussed, how would you reduce the harmful effects?
Answer
I would have a content blocker, as well as disabling any geotagging or location-sharing services as they can be dangerous. I would add in an optional reminder if the user has used social media for too much time.
