I am an Associate Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. 

I teach masters/PhD microeconometrics and labour economics courses, an Honours course in the analysis of household survey data, and from January 2023 am the Post-Graduate Convenor in the School of Economics. 

From 2011 until June 2020 I was employed by DataFirst at UCT. 

I hold DPhil and MPhil degrees in Economics from the University of Oxford, as well as a BCom (Hons) and BSc from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. 

I have worked as a short term consultant for the World Bank (2009, 2011, 2017-2019, 2023) and have experience in running  firm and household surveys in Ghana (2013) and Tanzania (2008).

I was the founder and co-owner of TaxiMap- a website that helped people to get around on minibus taxis.
