Below are some public goods that I have tried to create, in defiance of all Samuelson conditions, and mostly because I got so many questions about them from colleagues that it saved me time to just put them online. Hopefully they are helpful for you.
As part of my work at the U.S. Census Bureau, I helped to develop and release an experimental data product called Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes, which releases data on earnings and employment outcomes for graduates from post-secondary institutions. To download this data and read more about the product, visit the LEHD PSEO website.
A number of people have asked me about making maps in STATA, which makes presentations more enjoyable and easy to understand; to this end, I have posted code to easily create maps of states or counties, which is available on my GitHub website. Each folder includes a do-file, the map coordinates file, and the map data set. I also include a read-me file, and a sample dataset to use. Further instructions are enclosed in the do-file. Special thanks to Michel Grosz for beta-testing this small project for me. If you see any mistakes in my code, please let me know, and I will fix them.
