André has been a math instructor for adult learners in Halifax for over ten years. However, his interests in mathematics are not limited to the classroom.
He has also played a role in piloting new curriculum outcomes for Levels I and II of the Nova Scotia Adult Learning Program, as well as being part of the Level I Math Faculty Working Group and the GED Math Course Development Team.
When the opportunity presented itself, he created a poster on math techniques for adult learners and presented it during the Spotlight on Learning conference in Toronto. He has also hosted a session on Math Learning Difficulties at the Learner Supports Conference in Truro.
An outline of André's instruction methods can be seen in the following presentation.
