Hola!

Soy Andrea Vera-Gajardo, actualmente académica en el Instituto de Matemáticas de la Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile.

Soy Licenciada en Matemáticas (PUC), Doctora en ciencias mención Matemática (U. de Chile), realicé un postdoctorado en Matemática en Durham University (UK) y también soy Diplomada en Estudios de Género (U. de Chile).

Mis intereses de investigación son interdisciplinarios y transitan entre los estudios de género, epistemología feminista, estudios sociales de la ciencia y tecnología, y las matemáticas. 

Soy la directora del proyecto Anillo ATE220009 “Disonancias. Comunidad, Universidad e Irrupción Feminista" (2022-2025) y también la investigadora principal del proyecto Fondecyt de iniciación 11220123 "Engineering culture in Chile: an interdisciplinary approach" (2022-2025).

Actualmente soy Investigadora Asociada del Instituto de Sistemas Complejos de Valparaíso y también una de las Investigadoras Responsables del Centro de Estudios Interdisciplinarios en Teoría Social y Subjetividad (CEI-TESYS) de la Universidad de Valparaíso.

Entre 2019 y 2022 participé como investigadora asociada en el proyecto ANID PIA Anillo SOC180025 "Mujeres matemáticas en Chile. Sociología de un campo científico desdeuna perspectiva interdisciplinaria y de género".

I am Andrea Vera-Gajardo, currently working as an assistant professor at  Instituto de Matemáticas of Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile.

I have a degree in Mathematics (PUC), a PhD in Mathematics (U. de Chile), a postdoc in Mathematics at Durham University (UK) and a Diploma in Gender Studies (U. de Chile).

My research interests are interdisciplinary and range between gender studies, feminist epistemology, social studies of science and technology and mathematics. 

I am the director of the Anillo ATE220009 project "Disonancias. Comunidad, Universidad e Irrupción Feminista" (2022-2025) and also the principal investigator of the Fondecyt initiation project 11220123 "Engineering culture in Chile: an interdisciplinary approach" (2022-2025).

I am currently an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Complex Systems of Valparaiso and also one of the Responsible Researchers of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Theory and Subjectivity (CEI-TESYS) of the University of Valparaiso.

I was also a research associate of the ANID PIA Anillo SOC180025 project "Women mathematicians in Chile. Sociology of a scientific field from an interdisciplinary and gender perspective".
