ABSTRACT COMPOSITION ON CANVAS
Students were asked to create abstract design with lead pencil, then trace over design with
charcoal then paint. Before painting students sprayed charcoal design with workable fixative.
A fixative is a liquid used to preserve and seal charcoal from smearing.
