About "comfort women" issue, BBC and some major media covered that was large scale atrocity by the national policy of Japan. Let us find the irresponsibility in what those media is doing.

An estimated 200,000 women were forced to work in Japan's brothels before and during the war.
Would BBC blame someone without showing the identified criminality and its evidence ? ( "Identified" means; such as date, location, victims' names, perpetrators, other witnesses of the same incident are identified. )
.. They wouldn't.
Would BBC blame deceased someone without showing the identified criminality and its evidence ?
.. They wouldn't.
Would BBC blame the deceased former Japanese soldiers without showing identified criminality and its evidence ?
.. YES, they are doing.
Media reports some victims that testified atrocity of Japanese soldiers. But they never reported even one identified incident ( date, location, killed victims' names,...). Moreover, none of the testimony proved the atrocity by the national policy of Japan.
The reason why they can be so irresponsible at blaming others is, they have no fear of being sued.
That is, regrettably, it is thought that BBC and some media have no ethics, no fairness, no justice.
Hope watchers/readers have media literacy and attitude to examine things' credibility by themselves.

BBC reported "comfort women" issue as "Hundreds of thousands of women and girls across Asia were raped and forced into sexual slavery by Japanese soldiers during World War Two". Such large scale atrocity means that was by the national policy of Japan if it were fact. But BBC never showed objective evidence of that.
Japan denies those. The comprehensive investigation has found no basis to show that. ( On the other hand, Japan has already acknowledged there partly existed victims by lawless soldiers such as the Semarang Comfort Women Incident. Those cases have already been settled by the trials just after the war and treaties with each country. )
