History: This is the 16th year here at Auburn Mountainview HS. Coach Walker's career began in the Spring of '95, where he spent one year at Ferris HS in Spokane, before returning home and taking over as the Head JV coach at Auburn High for the next two years. In 1998 Coach Walker got his first head coaching job at Liberty High School in Issaquah. At Liberty, Coach Walker took three teams to the state playoffs, and in 2003 won the 3A State Championship where he had the ultimate privilege of coaching Major League Superstar, Tim Lincecum. In 2005 Liberty placed 5th in state just missing a chance to return to the Finals by a run. In 2003 Coach Walker was named the "All-Area Coach of the Year” by both the Seattle Post Intelligencer and Eastside Journal. Coach Walker was invited to coach the 2003 All-State game in Wenatchee and also the 2004 All-Region game having the top seniors from Washington, Oregon and Idaho. In November 2005 he was asked to be a presenter at the Washington State Coaches’ Association Baseball Clinic where he spoke on Team Defense and Infield Play. In the time since opening the doors at Auburn Mountainview, the Lions have competed at the State level four times and in 2013, the Lions won 3A State Championship, the first for any male athletic team at AMHS. This championship was Coach Walker's second as a head coach, making him the only coach is State history to have 2 titles at 2 different 3A schools.

Coach Walker spent his high school years at Liberty High School in Issaquah where he was a 3 sport athlete in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Liberty won the 1988 State Championship in Football finishing the perfect season going 13-0; placed 8th in state in basketball, and 3rd in state in baseball in 1989. He was an all-league football and baseball player and was named to the All-State Baseball team in 1990.

Coach Walker attended Gonzaga University where he started at shortstop for 4 years in the now defunct Pac-10 North division and earned First Team All Pac-10 honors as a Sophomore and Second Team All Pac-10 honors his freshman and senior years. He earned his bachelor's degree in Physical Education and minored in Health Education. Coach Walker resumed graduate school and completed his Master's Degree in Teaching from Grand Canyon University.

Coach Walker is married to his wife, Dena. They have a daughter, Kaylee, and a son, Evan. Dena is also a teacher in the Auburn School District. She teaches 6th grade Language Arts at Mt. Baker MS.
