28x and 30x series -
Carefully remove broken post down to the level shown in pictures 1 & 2.
Identify the Fireman's side and Engineer's side post, they are different! Test fit the new posts to insure a good fit against the inside of the shell. This is important to insure enough clearance for the smoke unit. Check that the chassis mounting surface is slightly below the shell edge (Picture 3). Also make sure adjacent posts are at the same level.
When the fitment is confirmed, make sure all surfaces are clean and glue posts in using a strong adhesive. I use a clear 5 minute epoxy.
Allow PLENTY of time for the epoxy to set. (it says 5 minutes but over night will insure a good bond)

35x series - Chassis

Carefully remove broken post down to the level shown in pictures 1 & 2 (where valve guide attaches to shell).
Identify the Fireman's side and Engineer's side post, they are different! Test fit the new posts to insure that the nub on the new post sits against the bottom of the 'pocket (Picture 2). Check that the mounting surface is even with or slightly below the valve guide edge. Also make sure adjacent posts are at the same level.
When the fitment is confirmed, make sure all surfaces are clean and glue posts in using a strong adhesive. I use a clear 5 minute epoxy.
