Second Annual General Body Meeting - 05 Dec 10

The Annual General Body meeting of Ankur was held on 05 Dec 10 at JNV Kuknur in the backdrop of Alumni Meet 2010. The notice for the Second Annual General Body  Meeting was circulated 22 days in advance among all the members through email, phone and SMS.

The meeting was declared open by Mr SS Heddurshettar (6th batch), General Secretary, Ankur by inviting all the members of the Association. The General Secretary read out the proceedings and agenda points of the meeting for the benefit of all the participants. 

Presentation of Ankur Report : The report of the association for the year 2010 containing activities and transactions of the association was presented jointly by Mr Heddurshettar and Lt Cdr Naveenkumar Kolli (7th batch). It was decided that the report will be displayed in the association website and circulated among the alumni via email. (A copy of report is placed as an attachment to this mail).

Discussion on Membership Fee : Naveenkumar R Kolli proposed to revoke the annual subscription fee for the alumni.  It has been suggested that there shall be a one time membership fee as mentioned in the association bylaws The matter was discussed in length and everyone present agreed that there shall be one time subscription amount of Rs. 100 and members who pay this amount would only be eligible to participate in the administration of the association. It was further decided that any member contributing amounts exceeding Rs 100 for any purpose of the association shall be treated as having paid the one time subscription fee.

Introduction to Ankur schemes : Mr SS Heddurshettar and Lt Cdr Naveenkumar R Kolli read out the various Ankur schemes as mentioned in the Annual Report. All the members present were requested to spread the awareness about these schemes to more and more members so as to facilitate mobilisation of funds as and when required. Transparency in the transactions of the Ankur : Many members present expressed their apprehensions about transparency in the monetary transactions of the association. To this, the General Secretary requested to deposit the contributions directly to Ankur Bank account and intimate the same Lt Cdr Naveenkumar R Kolli who would keep the accounts of association and update the same on the association website. Proposals for Ankur Activities : The General Secretary requested the members to come up with proposals for the coming year. He emphasized that we must organize more and more activities and celebrate 2011 as it was Silver Jubilee Year for JNVK. It was decided to organize medical camps, personality development sessions, lectures etc.. during the coming year. All the members agreed to come up with few other good proposals.

Introduction to Ankur website : A session was conducted by Lt Cdr  Naveenkumar R Kolli about the Ankur website. The members were explained the various pages and the features of the association. He emphasized on entering the details of contributions to association and its benefits in ensuring transparency and avoiding mistrust. After discussing many other points the Secretary closed the meeting thanking the alumni for their support.
