Scholarships
"Altrusa is an expression of the search for the best in character, in business, and in citizenship."
Mamie L. Bass, first President of Altrusa International, Inc.
The Lillian Woods Scholarship was established in 1995 in honor of Lillian Woods, long-time leader in Fayetteville educational circles. She was an active member of Altrusa International of Fayetteville until her death in the 1990s, serving as Club President 1967-1968. She played a key role in many of the club’s early projects, including the establishment of a free dental clinic located at what was then called the FHS- West Campus.
The Lillian Woods Scholarship grants $1000 per year, per student. Funds may be spent on tuition, books, childcare, transportation, or other personal need. No restrictions are put on funds expenditures.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

We trust this Scholarship will help each recipient continue their education, reach their goals, and motivate them to also develop the necessary skills to assume a leadership role in our community.
