LETTER FROM COACH ANDY CLARK

Post date: Jan 31, 2012 4:49:45 AM

Dear Parents and Players,

Thank you for attending the Alpharetta High School 2012 Soccer Tryouts.

The coaching staff have enjoyed and have really appreciated the wonderful attitude, effort and performance of all those that have attended the tryouts.

We had approximately seventy player’s tryout this year for just two teams, which means almost fifty percent will not make a team. The coaches based their decisions on the following criteria;

· Technique & Skill proficiency

· Physical strength, speed, endurance, agility

· Game understanding & Insight

· Mental toughness & Attitude

· Ability to play under pressure

We have explained these criteria daily at tryouts to the players and have encouraged them to approach and discuss any areas they felt they should work on in order to show their best during the process. There will be no allocated time to present/discuss individual tryout evaluations post tryouts. With the tryouts process now complete, the main focus now will be on quickly molding a team ready to play games with just two weeks to prepare.

If selected for a team the following will now happen;

· Team selections will be posted of Coach Karp’s home room door by 12.00 on 1/30/12

· First training session will be on 1/31/12 and will take place at the Old Milton Center

· Transportation to the facility will be provided by a school bus and will leave AHS for each scheduled training date at approximately 4pm

· There will be no return transport to AHS from the Old Milton Center, so please make arrangements in advance to have your son picked up as coaches will depart promptly from the facility

· All training sessions are from 4.30-6.00pm (The training and game schedule will be released by 2/3/12)

· The training site will alternate weekly between the Old Milton Center and AHS

· Please volunteer to assist the booster club when they ask for helpers

The coaching staff thank you all very much in advance for your support of the program.

Kind Regards,

Coach Clarke
