In 2010 the step was taken to replace New Zealand Mail's 50c booklets with non denominated booklets with the word Kiwi in place of the denomination. These booklets were originally sold at $5.00 for a booklet of 10 stamps. On 1 October 2010 the price of posting a standard letter rose to 60c. Stamps from these booklets purchased for $5.00 were still able to be used without additional payment following the rate rise,as they will be following future rises in postage rates.
On 1 July 2012 postage rates for a standard letter rose to 70c. Again stamps from booklets purchased prior to the rate increase could be used at the new rate.
