Scott Smithley

Scott began coaching in 1994 at Ligonier Valley Junior High School. He also served as a high school volunteer assistant at Ligonier for multiple years from 1996 to 2002. In 2004, Scott was approached by a group of parents to coach a Junior Olympic program out of Westmoreland County; that team, Laurel Highlands Flash, went on to take 9th out of 64 teams at the East Coast Championships held at Penn State University. LHF, on a shoe string budget, practicing in a small YMCA auxiliary gym, got Scott hooked on JO's for life. In 2008, he helped form Premier Volleyball Club and served as it's club head coach as well as the 17's head coach for five years.

From 2012 to 2015, Scott coached the junior varsity team at Plum High School. His teams year in and year out had winning records in section play and at invitational tournaments.

Scott is now the Head Coach of CCAC BOYCE. They are re-entering the collegiate ranks after a 5 year break and they secured a win in just their 2nd match of the year!

As a player, Scott played club volleyball and varsity basketball at Washington and Jefferson College. He then went on to play for over fifteen years in the Ohio Valley Region of USA Volleyball, competing in the "A" and "Open" levels. You will still find him in various open gyms and tournaments throughout the Tri-State Area.
