1. INTRODUCTION:< namespace="" prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xml="true">

Some committed and energetic youngsters, who had a dream to positive change in the society, established the organization named Association of Local Internal Vision Enlightenment- ALIVE with a view to empowering and developing the social status of the oppressed, deprived and underprivileged people towards the contribution in national development process.

2. YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT:

ALIVE was established on < namespace="" prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" xml="true">11th February 1996.

3. TYPE OF ORGANISATION:

A voluntary development organization reaching its support and services to its target people through implementing a number of projects and programs.

5. TARGET PEOPLE:

Underprivileged and disadvantaged people including women and children of both urban and rural areas.

6. VISION OF ALIVE:

ALIVE believes that the distress and underprivileged people of the society can change their situation/fortune by themselves if scopes and opportunities are created for them.

7. MISSION STATEMENT:

A vast majority of people of this area have been living much below the subsistence level and others have been in very much disadvantaged situation. They do not know how or have the capability to change their situation. In this situation ALIVE has taken initiatives to cooperate with these people in changing their state through providing various development and rehabilitation activities.

8. GOAL:

To improve the overall socio-economic situation of the poor and under privileged people.

9. OBJECTIVES OF THE ALIVE:

a) Target people themselves can change their own fortune/ situation with their own ability where ALIVE would play the role of Catalyst and cooperate in their efforts towards positive changes.

b) Target people can ensure the maximum and appropriate utilization of the available local resources for their development

c) The organization can put emphasis on the community based integrated development approaches for improvement of the target people.

d) The organization gives emphasis on the people’s participation in the development process

e) ALIVE will cooperate with the target people in exploring and releasing their internal will, own potentialities and creativity

f) The organization will give more emphasis on the sustainable development concept.

10. STRATEGIES:

Ü To organize the target women into groups towards building their own organizational base to develop their individual and collective capacity.

Ü To rehabilitate the disabled through appropriate support and services

Ü To help the disadvantaged children to improve their quality of life

Ü To provide primary health services to the women and children of respective target families

Ü To provide technical and credit support to the poor and poorest group members for undertaking and operating income-generating activities

Ü To provide other support and services to the target people

Ü To make illiterate people literate through operating non-formal and formal education.

Ü To response towards the distressed people caused by natural disasters

Ü To improve the health and hygienic condition using safe water and latrine

Ü To protect the environmental situation and ecological balance

Ü To improve the Agricultural/Livestock / Fisheries / Vegetable production through re-generation agriculture method

Ü Aware people on drug-abasement and anti trafficking of women and children.

11. MANAGEMENT OF ALIVE:

ALIVE has three principal management organs:

Ü A General Committee (GC) consists of 31 members, which meets once a year.

Ü An Executive Committee (EC) comprised of 09 members elected by GC for a two years term. The EC meets at least once a month.

Ü An executive office headed by an Executive Director who executes projects/programs by a number of efficient program and administrative staffs, workers and professionals.
