The spreadsheet below provides a many-to-many match between GICS and NAICS industry classification schemes, specifically 144 GICS sub-industries (8-digit detail, year 2014) and 989 NAICS industries (6-digit detail, year 2012). The spreadsheet includes a tab with all 2-digit, 4-digit, 6-digit, and 8-digit GICS codes and descriptions. The spreadsheet also includes a concordance between GICS, Bloomberg, and Reuters codes. With an appropriate data subscription, Bloomberg and Reuters codes can be used to download industry-level market capitalization and total returns data.
