Welcome! Thank you for stopping by to learn a bit about me, both professionally and personally.
Currently, I am the Director of the TRIO Student Support Program at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This program is a federally funded initiative designed to assist first-generation, income-eligible students, and students with disabilities in completing their bachelor's degrees. TRIO is dedicated to student success by offering resources such as educational opportunities, scholarships, and career preparation.
Before this role, I served as the Assistant Director for the McNair Scholars Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is a another federally funded initiative under the TRIO umbrella, with its focus on equipping first-generation, income eligible students to pursue graduate degrees.
I was also an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Youngstown State University for five years. My teaching experience spans courses from College Algebra to Calculus to Graph Theory, with a focus on active learning and group work as essential elements in the classroom. I also had the privilege of advising over 30 research projects involving 40+ students, which led to two student-coauthored publications.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and hiking with my husband, curling up with my cat to read cozy mysteries, and throwing pottery at my local studio.
