Assistant Lecturer

Alejandro.Arbelaez -AT- cit.ie

Alejandro Arbelaez received his PhD in computer science from Université Paris-Sud XI  in 2011 for his work on applying learning-based techniques to solve combinatorial problems. He also holds an engineering degree from Universidad Javeriana (Cali, Colombia). After finishing his PhD he worked as a post-doc at the University of Tokyo in the Japanese-French laboratory for informatics. From October 2013 - January 2016 he worked as a post-doc at University College Cork in the context of the DISCUS project. Arbelaez's main research interest include: Constraint Satisfaction Problems, Local Search, SAT, Parallel Search, and Applying machine learning to hard combinatorial problems.
