Standard Tuning

The guitar is usually tuned in '4ths' which means that you go along the neck to the 4th note in the scale

1st note ( open string) 2nd note ( 2nd fret) 3rd note ( 4th fret) 4th note (5th fret )

and tune the sting to that note.

This can be repeated for all the strings EXCEPT from the 4th (G)string from which we tune the 5th string by going to the 3rd note
