India is a rapidly growing economy and is predicted to one of the largest economies by 2050 as per a report. This would mean that technology, science, and the arts will take the lead and guide India to its aspirational status. This is great, however, there is something amiss here and that is education. While India is home to some of the world’s top universities and schools, it is also a developing country dealing with extreme poverty. This poverty has led to high rates of school drop outs from the economically backward class. As per a report 4 percent of children in India never start school. 58 percent don't complete primary schools. This is the gap Aksharbeena aims to bridge.
