Our Camp Director & Owner:
AJ's Field Hockey Camps are run by Amanda "AJ" Janney Misselhorn, Director and Owner of Sweet D Field Hockey, LLC.
AJ is currently coaching club and academy and private lessons at Spooky Nook in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
AJ is a USFHA Level 2 Coach and is a graduate of the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy. She was on the Board of Directors of WeCoach, formerly known as the Alliance of Women Coaches. WeCoach is an organization dedicated to the recruitment, advancement, and retention of women coaches of all sports and levels. wecoachsports.org
Amanda Janney Misselhorn has been active with USFHA coaching Futures, selecting at Nationals and Regionals and coaching for the High Performance program. In 2019, AJ coached Futures practices at Region 9 in Louisville, KY, at Region 10 practice in St. Louis, Missouri and selected at RFTs in Region 6 New Jersey.
In 2014, AJ was the Head Coach for the USFHA High Performance Pennsylvania Team and led the team to a 1st place finish at the Women's National Championship at the Spooky Nook. In 2013, AJ was the Assistant coach for the USFHA High Performance New Jersey team and helped the NJ HP team to multiple Championships.
AJ coached at Indiana University from 2015-2018. She joined the Hoosiers in February 2015 and helped the team to a 3rd place ranking in the Big Ten Conference and the team set a new program record with the most Big Ten Conference wins in Indiana FH history during the fall of 2015. iuhoosiers.com
AJ coached at Temple University for 10 years. In 2014, AJ lead the team to a winning record in the Big East Conference and finished with an NCAA RPI rating of #11 in the nation. In 2013, AJ led the team to a 14-6 record and a #17 National Ranking. owlsports.com
Before coaching at Temple, AJ helped the University of Pennsylvania win an Ivy League Championship in 2004. After graduating from Wake Forest University, AJ was a High School coach, leading Trinity Valley School to two SPC Championships in 2000 & 2001.
Our Camp Staff:
Our Camp Staff will include NCAA Division 1 Field Hockey Coaches, NCAA Division 1 Student-Athletes, and Division 1 Field Hockey Alumni.
AJ's Field Hockey Camps will be staffed by knowledgable and caring Coaches. Campers will receive individual attention and will be taught a variety of basic and advanced field hockey skills. Our Camp Coaches will serve as positive role models for our young campers and will provide the leadership and instruction to ensure for a great camp experience!
Our Company:
AJ's Field Hockey Camps and Clinics are designed to improve overall skills and general knowledge in field hockey, as well as give players more playing opportunities on artificial playing surfaces, such as astroTurf fields.
These camps and clinics are conducted primarily for educational purposes, so attendance is open to any and all entrants. To ensure a safe playing environment and a high ratio of coaches to players, there will be attendance restrictions on the number and the age of participants.
The names of our Camps have been updated to "AJ's Field Hockey Camps" in 2012.
This Field Hockey company, name Sweet D Field Hockey, LLC, was started in 2004 with the first Sweet D camp, the Sweet Demon Field Hockey Texas Training Camp. It was held at HEB Pennington Field on Monday, May 10, 2004.
Sweet Demon Field Hockey is a Limited Liability Corporation. This is an independent organization formed by Amanda Janney Misselhorn in order to promote the sport of Field Hockey by running training camps and clinics.
