Advanced Microeconomics

Micro Economic Theory is a scientific discipline that studies how individual agents, such as consumers, firms, and government agencies, make rational decisions in allocating limited resources among competing uses. The theory aims at understanding various economic phenomena that are consequences of scarce resources and conflict of interests, building on the premise of rational behavior of individual agents.

Level II of this course will cover broad topics of game theory, principal agent theory, auctions, mechanism design, among others. The Teaching Schedule below provides the course contents in more detail.

The objective of this course is to familiarize the students with important concepts and results related to these subject matters while equipping them with useful analytical skills. After completing this course, students are expected to be able to develop own ideas and conduct their research with confidence.
