DTU Patrol

DTU patrol is using an unmarked police vehicle with signifiers to indicate that you are DTU on your vest or clothing

• Dtu should always travel with a partner
• DTU members are permitted to only carry a pistol in a holster but may have a rifle in their vehicle as DTU patrol (must be off probation)
• DTU patrol must be authorized by CO or if highest officer on, make sure you announce you are going on DTU patrol
• There must be at least 5 cops on
• DTU members must have a taser in their backpack
• DTU members cannot respond to normal callouts such as a traffic stop but may respond to calls that threaten police officers, civilians lives or include felonies
• Whilst on DTU patrol cars with lights/sirens must be used.

AUTHORITY WHILE ON PATROL

• Detectives only have as much power as their GD rank for example. Detective Sergeants who are constable on GD do not have the authority of a GD sergeant only the authority of a constable.
