Brief summary of the Aeschliman Family history.

Christian Peter Aeschliman, born 4/7/1819 in Switzerland, died 12/18/1881, buried Les Brenets Canton Neuchatel Switzerland. Married 5/4/1854 to second wife, Julia Roulet, born 12/22/1832 in Switzerland, died 3/23/1874, buried Les Brenets Canton Neuchatel, Switzerland. They lived on a dairy farm high up in the Jura Mountains at La Saignotte which is near Les Brenets. They had ten children three died in childhood and the remaining seven children later emigrated to America. Below is a brief history of the seven children -- Marie, Fred, Sam, Paul, Rose, Sophia and Ernest.

1879, Marie Aeschliman and Chris Ummel were married in Switzerland, six children were born to them in Switzerland and five born to them in America, they came to Bloomington, Illinois in Oct 1889 where they raised their family of eleven.

1880, at age 19 Sam leaves Switzerland for America and lives with his Uncle Phillip Roulet (Julia Roulet's brother) who came to America in 1867 and was the Pastor of the Mennonite Church at Pulaski, Iowa.

1881, Paul and Rose were not old enough to act as guardian for Ernest but Sam would quality so Sam returned to Switzerland and brought Paul, Rose and Ernest to America to live near their Uncle Phillip Roulet at Pulaski, Iowa. Sam crossed the Atlantic Ocean three times before he was twenty one.

1882, Fred and Rose Rubin were married in Switzerland.

1885, Fred and Rose with small son, Arnold, and Fred's sister, Sophia, left Switzerland for America and arrived at Pulaski, Iowa to live near their Uncle Phillip Roulet.

1886, Sophia Aeschliman and Chris Schluneger were married at Pulaski, Iowa.

1886, Sam, Paul and sister Rose left Pulaski, Iowa and arrived at Onecho, Washington Territory.

1887, Fred, Rose and three sons and Chris and Sophia (Aeschliman) Schluneger left Pulaski, Iowa and arrived at Onecho, Washington Territory.

1888, Rose Aeschliman and Will Rubin were married at Pullman, Washington Territory.

1889, Washington became a State.

1889 or '90, Will Rubin and Sam rented or bought land at Onecho, WA.

1893, Paul and Phebe Dieffenbach were married at Pulaski, Iowa.

1893, Paul elected Pastor of the newly organized Mennonite Church at Onecho, WA.

After 1893, Paul and Phebe (Dieffenbach) Aeschliman bought a little farm at Onecho, WA.

About 1896, Ernest left Pulaski, Iowa and arrived at Onecho, WA.

1898, Chris and Sophia (Aeschliman) Schluneger bought a farm near Onecho, WA.

1899, Fred and Rose (Rubin) Aeschliman bought a farm near Onecho, WA.

1900, Sam and Ida Sommers were married at Pratum, OR.

1901, Ernest and Esther Ensley were married at Onecho, WA.

1914, Ernest and Esther (Ensley) Aeschliman bought a farm at Onecho, WA.

1922, Chris Ummel died, buried at Bloomington, Illinois.

1925, Will Rubin died, buried at Onecho, WA.

1931, Sam died, buried at Onecho, WA.

1934, Marie (Aeschliman) Ummel died, buried at Bloomington, Illinois.
