German NFI Bakelite Mechanical Calculator

An antique German made NFI Bakelite mechanical calculator/ adding machine.

The shell is made out of plastic, while the inside is metal. The whole thing is

highlighted with chrome legs and a chrome lever.

After disassembly the Dynamit Nobel AG plant in Nünberg , the Nünberg-Fürther

Industriewerk (NFI) was founded in 1948. Here started the small adding machine

production, based on developments of the company Mauser, which was transferred

to France. In 1952 the operation was then named Dynamit-Actien-Gesellschaft, but

the name NFI was retained for the calculators."
