Felt and Tarrant (9)

The only eight column Felt and Tarrant machine in the collection, serial# 312456 this machine looks to be one of those refurbished by the factory in the post war period. Originally from the serial number probably a model J. Having replaced springs and sorted several other problems it still doesn't work. I think some mechanism may be bent. One of the frame screws sheared which may not help. Also one of the #6s is on too long a stem suggesting a bodger at work.

The first of the 12 column machines this again is a refurbished one. Probably a model F made originally 1915-20. Nearly working but not quite. Serial# 125596.

F series? Might do well to swap the mask on this from a poorer machine. Short of keytops too (NB white and brown).

H series(?) might be early J as Js started around serial# 245,000. Good nick with farthings. 1926 ish. Needs a red button and maybe a couple of key changes.
