Procedure in detail:
A time out was performed. My hands were washed immediately prior to the procedure. Sterile gloves, mask, cap were used throughout the procedure. Allens Test confirmed collateral circulation in the wrist.
The patient's [] arm was prepped and draped. The skin was anesthetized with lidocaine anesthesia.
Using the Arrow Radial Arterial line kit, the radial artery was accessed and a flash in the catheter was obtained. The catheter was then advanced into the radial artery over the internal guidewire. The catheter was secured in position with a sterile dressing.
The patient tolerated the procedure.
