After more than 11 months...

The project is completed!This is how it looks.

My aim...my dream :).

I hope I will be able to make at least something 1/2 of this :).

First of all I want to apologize to you, the reader of this site, for my bad English, but I hope I will help to those that are building or want to build similar project.

Everything began before few months.Before few years I had a small 60l aquarium with few fishes inside it.The problem was, that when I grow up with every day there was little and little time to take care for it and in the end I sold all fishes and kept the aquarium in the basement.

The time is passing by and after hard day at work, when I go back at home, I am looking for a little green place where I can sit down for a minute or two, just watching the green plants.

During this time I learnt a lot of stuff about developing microprocessors circuit board for various application including lighting, heating, RF transmitters etc.

One day in March 2010 I was left without any project to work on, so I decided to begin building a self containing green environment in my old aquarium.

This time, there will be no fish, but green tropical plants.

Main building points :

• Light control - generating light with spectrum as close as possible to the one that is necessary for tropical plants, with day and night change ;

• Temperature control - simulating the increasing of the temperature during the day, drop during the night;

• Humidity control;

• Simulation of sunrise, sunset...etc;

• Monitoring and reporting for condition of the electronics;

• Possible communication using USART protocol, and build up over this - emulating USB, data store, etc.

• To keep the price as low as possible.
