Our First Event:
Teen Volunteers at Barton Hill ES
A diverse group of students, ages 14-17, a local teacher, and one parent leader, stepped up to the plate and created an academic mentoring program for our first act of kindness., and from there ACT5! had a working vision.

Act5: San Pedro "Team Angel" joins
November 12, Saturday morning came a little too soon with the recent time change, but a few die-hard Act5-ers got out there and did our part with brooms, pickers, bags, and gloves. By joining the efforts of #savingsanpedro, Act5! celebrated caring about the community, and we had a blast!
Productive way to start the weekend!
We KNOW we made a difference because people were responding. One homeless woman even picked up her broken container after tossing into the gutter, and said, "This is mine." Our volunteer took it and replied, "Thanks. We are here taking pride in our city." Amazing moment.
Another lady drove by and simply said, "Thank you." This was a way for teenagers to see the value of doing something positive. While one was working to clean and beautify, others were in the alley making a deal. Another poignant image. The changing of times.
Thanks to the participants and next month we will come out in force! Great job, and the Starbux after was fun too.
