Master Project (06/2007–04/2008)

Advisor: Dr. J. Pant (internal) and Dr. K. R. Patil (external)

Thesis: Designing and assembling instruments to synthesize nanoparticulate films using Liquid-Liquid-Interface-Reaction Technique (modified Langmuir-Blodgett) and Solid-Liquid Interface Reaction Technique (modified spin coating).

PhD Project (09/2009-01/2015)

Advisor: Dr. Sheng Yun Wu

Dissertation: Short-range Magnon excitation and spontaneous exchange bias phenomenon in NiO nanoparticles.

It involved synthesis of different size nanoparticles and their characterization using SEM, TEM, XRPD, SQUID, Raman and PL spectroscopy. Main goal was to study the effect of nickel vacancies on magnon excitation and spontaneous exchange bias (SEB) phenomenon. This is first report to observe SEB in antiferromagnetic system.
