Credentials

For the past thirty years, Alan B. Scharf, President of  A.B Scharf and Company Ltd., has provided professional services, as both consultant and/or joint venture principal, in the areas of real estate development, finance and business operations, with a specialty in turnaround asset management.  His activities have included the creation and implementation of asset strategies, transactional work, entitlements, organizational restructuring, team building, financial re-engineering, creation of property and partnership information systems, cost controls, and implementation of marketing and sales programs.  He has been responsible for over $6 billion in realty and business assets, involving portfolio management of improved and unimproved commercial and residential real estate, loans and new real estate developments, as well as the areas of due diligence review and financial analysis.  Mr. Scharf has been instrumental in asset acquisition, financing and disposition transactions, including debt, mezzanine debt and equity placements with major institutional, investment banking and private equity funds.

 

Mr. Scharf began his career in public accounting at Laventhol and Horwath.  He has been a co-principal of an SEC-registered investment advisor. Alan Scharf is a former Florida licensed Certified Public Accountant, current Real Estate Broker and NMLS Loan Originator (inactive).  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, having graduated cum laude. Mr. Scharf financed his college education by performing as a disc jockey for eight years, both on radio and in private appearances.
