There is a communal mail box in front of the house - which box is ours?
Number 3, in the upper left corner. Key required - you will be given one upon move-in.
The hall bath fan doesn't come on right away:
It is an ultra-low noise model - the delay is part of its normal operation. It will come on after about 10 seconds, then run normally.
The family room ceiling fan doesn't work:
The fan is controlled by both a wall switch and a remote control: both must be on for the fan to operate. The wall switch is the one closest to the sconce of the dining room wall; it must be on for the fan to operate. If the fan still doesn't work then check/replace the batteries in the remote.
The bottom receptacle of the outlet on the foyer-side of the living room doesn't work:
It is controlled by the wall switch above and to its left.
How do I turn on the sconces of the living/dining room?
There is no wall switch; rather, each is controlled by a round switch on the right side of the base of the sconce itself.
The dishwasher won't turn on:
make sure the switch that controls it, on the countertop wall above the dishwasher, is on. If that doesn't work, then
check the main circuit panel. Reset the third red breaker from the top: push it all the way to the left, then all the way to the right.
The cook top isn't working:
An "F" alternating with a numeral means that the pan on the burner either:
does not have the right type of metal in its base (see below) or,
has too small a base for the burner (in which case use a smaller burner or a larger pan)
The cook top uses induction technology, which means it actually heats the pan itself instead of the cook top on which the pan sits. This has many advantages. Such cook tops require steel or iron pans, ie., pans to which a magnet will stick. Sorry, but copper or aluminum pans won't work.
Do I need to water the lawn or shrubs?
No, they are watered automatically by the irrigation system. There is no watering you need to do. The irrigation system is programmed to provide the minimum water required; do not turn off the irrigation system controller nor change its settings - that will damage the lawn/landscaping. Please notify the property manager or owner should the lawn/shrubs appear in need of water or overly-watered.
The shower in the hall bathroom makes a whining noise after I pull up the lever in the spigot to divert the water to the shower head:
Adjust the water temperature/volume a little up or down. The noise will go away, and you can then adjust the water temperature/volume to your liking.
Why are the irrigation system valves next to the outside water faucet covered by upside-down trash cans?
They are acting as covers to protect the PVC plumbing from the UV rays of the sun. Please leave them as they are.
