Kit Lists

We're putting together this page at present. If there's anything you'd particularly like to see then let us know.

Much of the kit is available from the Cambridge Scout Shop, the online Scout shops (see External Links) or from Millets, Blacks or other camping shops. Millets, Blacks and Cotswolds usually offer a Scout Discount of 10% if you produce a Group Scarf.

Useful Ideas

  • Take a coathanger to hang up your uniform shirt
  • Don't take a pillow: Fill the stuff sac from your sleeping bag with (dry) clothes.

Weekend Camps

  • Sleeping bag and mat
  • Plate, bowl, mug and cutlery (no china please)
  • Drawstring bag to hold eating utensils
  • Tea towel
  • Personal washkit (Soap, toothbrush, toilet roll, comb)
  • Towel
  • Walking boots and spare shoes / boots (school shoes should never go to camp)
  • Trainers
  • Warm jumper or sweatshirt
  • Trousers for general camp wear (2)
  • Warm jacket with sleeves
  • Waterproof coat
  • Hat, Gloves and a scarf (and/or) sun hat and sun cream
  • Spare underwear and socks
  • T shirts (3)
  • Nightwear
  • Torch and spare batteries
  • Bags for wet clothes
  • Hankies
  • Wellington boots
  • A daysack if walks are planned
  • A holdall to put it all in
  • Uniform shirt and scarf are to be worn to travel to and from all camps

Longer camps

Winter Camps (Scouts only)

Same as weekend camp, plus:

  • A blanket
  • extra layers of warm clothing
  • Trainers should be taken only for indoor activities, not for general camp wear

Day hikes (including Breakout)

Overnight hikes (including Jailbreak)
