Narrative:

When I was a little girl, I wanted a guitar. Even though i didn't know how to play it, the desire for one was unbearable for me. I asked my parents, actually I begged them to buy me a guitar. Instead of saying “Sure, we would love to buy you a guitar!”, my parents unenthusiastically said “No.”, and I knew that was the end of my dream to fulfill my desire.

After a few weeks I asked my parents if they could buy me a guitar. The answer, as I expected, was “No,”, but this time they added “You can get an allowance and buy it yourself.” I was overjoyed, little did I know how much effort and time it was going to take to raise that much money.

My parents told me I would get five dollars every week for my allowance. I knew a guitar costed one hundred twenty dollars, so by making a sequence, I knew it would take twenty four weeks to raise enough money to buy my guitar. The first week I raised five dollars. The second week I raised ten dollars, and in the third week I raised fifteen dollars. After twenty four weeks I had enough money to buy a guitar.Ever since then, I happily play my guitar even if it gives my parents a headache.

Sequences helped me determine how many weeks it would take me to raise one hundred twenty dollars. By earning five dollars a week I figured out how long it

would take me to raise the money I needed to buy a guitar. Sequences helped me predict the outcome of the future by plugging in a key factor, a consistent input. My

input, the five dollars, increased by five every week until I reached my goal, one hundred twenty dollars.
