VASSAL: Squad Leader
Blood and Sand boards
Download at VASSAL: Squad Leader, under 'Customized and Special Boards'.
http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:Squad_Leader
This package contains the boards and overlays from Wild Bill Raiders' 'Blood and Sand' variant and extra material. I wanted to move the B&S boards across the digital divide so vsql players could experience a part of Squad Leader history. I hope you enjoy the digital representation of this enthusiasts' production from 1982.
Installation:
Unzip this package and copy the boards into the VSQL\boards folder, replacing any existing boards. Restart VSQL.
To use a board, select it normally. Note boards P-19 and greater are half-size. Boards P-18 and greater are not part of 'Blood and Sand'.
Overlays are selected from the 'File\New game' menu or 'Pick new boards' button. Click the 'Terrain SSR' button and then the 'Board# Special overlays, check the overlay, Apply and Done. As with all overlays, the LOS does not function on the overlay terrain, it uses the underlying original terrain instead.
Blood and Sand rules, scenarios and materials are available here:

Package Content:
P-16 Tarawa - Used in P-9 'Bloody Betio!' and P-19 'Hold Wake Island'.
P-17 Iwo Jima - Used in P-12 'IWO'.
P-18 Jungle - No known scenarios use this board.
P-19 Mountain - No known scenarios use this board. No LOS functionality.
P-20 Island - No known scenarios use this board.
P-21 Village - No known scenarios use this board.
04 - Overlays for P-03 'Take Henderson Field!' and P-11 'Slugging It Out'.
05 - Overlays for P-17 'On To Myityikina' and P-20A 'Hospital Heroes'.
15 - Overlays for P-23 'Take Suribachi'.
Terrain:
Jungle - Jungle is defined in Blood and Sand rule 5c.32 and depicted on the vsql boards as a combination of woods and hand drawn palm trees (Example: P-16M10 and P-18Z5).
LOS - The LOS may not be perfect, and if it indicates a result different than the rules, the rules should take precedence.
P-16 - It is ambiguous if the beach crestline (Example: P-16L5) is a change in level or a change in terrain. The vsql LOS treats it as a change in terrain only. Players should use their own judgement in determining level.
P-19 has dark patches (Example: M3), these are not defined and have no effect on vsql's LOS function. Players should use their own judgement in determining LOS.
P-21 has yellowish circles (Example: K6), these are not defined and have no effect on vsql's LOS function. Players should use their own judgement in determining LOS.
