Hello 1507 Students, Parents and Supporters,
My name is Kevin Lim and I am the Resident Counselor for 1507D! On behalf of our entire 1507 RC team, we are very excited for the new year to begin and are looking forward to seeing you in person next week.
As we get closer to move in, we just wanted to pass on some (maybe a lot of) information and reminders.
For actual move in day(s):
Sophomores: Thurs, Aug 13th from 9am-12pm
Juniors/Seniors: Sat, Aug 15th from 10am-12pm.
Please remember that registration days all start at the Main Building's main entrance. To be able to enter Access Rd, you will need to present a clearance card which you can only get from the main building. We can also only check in students who present a clearance card.
As you pack for your move to campus, please remember to bring the following items:
- Formal Clothing for Convocation. This is a time during the first week where the entire student body comes together to welcome the year and a wonderful opportunity for photos. Convocation dress should include: dress shirts, pants, shoes, belt and tie; jackets are optional.
- Kitchen/Food Supplies. 1507 is going green this year. For activities, wing dinners, programs, etc; we will no longer be supplying disposal plates, cups, or plastic ware. Students should have their own reusable items. Plates, cups, silverware, etc.
- Housekeeping Supplies. We in 1507 like to brag that we are one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest hall on campus. Help us keep that reputation! Our hall office has a limited amount of cleaning supplies available; so we encourage all students to bring their own cleaning products such as Lysol wipes or spray, paper towels, dish soap, sponge, toilet bowl cleaner, etc. Each room should be provided with a bucket, toilet brush and spray bottle.
- Lamps. Each room is provided with one overhead light above the door which functions like a night light. To be able to see, it is highly recommended to bring a lamp, desk lamp, etc. Please remember that halogen lights cannot be brought into the hall as they are a fire hazard.
- Shower Curtain. Rooms are not provided with a shower curtain or bathmat. Students, please discuss with your roommate over who will bring these items. Don’t forget toiletries!
- Day of Service Items (Soph’s Only). Sophomores will be participating in Day of Service on August 19th. Many of these service projects are outdoors and may be in natural areas. It is recommended that students have access to sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, hats, etc. Gloves should be provided if needed.
- Cart. 1507 has a very limited number of carts available. To help facilitate an easier move in process, it is recommended that if you have one, bring one.
