Woodmans: A very large grocery store that sells just about everything for affordable prices. They will only accept cash and debit cards…no credit cards! There are daily trips out of 1501 to Woodmans. Walking trips to Woodmans are NOT allowed.
Target / Orchard Gateway Area: The area along Orchard Gateway, in between Orchard and Randall Roads. Businesses include: Target, Michaels, Dollar Tree, Best Buy, Verizon Wireless, JC Penny, Bath and Body Works, Saphora, Starbucks (inside Target), etc. Walking trips from campus are NOT allowed.
Orchard Road: Near daily trips as well as walking trips allowed. This area along Orchard Road, between Sullivan and Indian Trail contains numerous restaurants and businesses which IMSA students love. Included are: Chase Bank, Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, Chipotle, Pockets, Great Clips, Kinko’s/FedEx, Pizza Hut Express, AT&T, Panera, Chili’s, Wendy’s, Old Second National Bank. Please note, while walking through this area, students are expected to remain on sidewalks and paths.
Galena Road / Blvd: Galena Road roughly west of Edgelawn, near the Wal Mart. A partial list of businesses include: Dunkin Donuts, 7/11, Taco Bell, Dollar Tree, etc. Walking trips from campus are not allowed.
Geneva Commons: Roughly 20 minutes up Randall Road, this large shopping area include many stores and restaurants for IMSA students. An incomplete listing of businesses include: Corner Bakery, Frozen Yogurt, Noodles, Barnes and Noble, Houlihans, Dicks, etc. A full directory exists at: http://shopgenevacommons.com/store-directory-alpha/. Downtown Geneva: The historic downtown Geneva, IL, the area provides numerous small businesses which cater to our students. An incomplete listing of businesses includes: Graham’s 318 Coffee Shop, Craham’s Fine Chocolates and Ice Cream, All Chocolate Kitchen (ACK), Starbucks, the Little Traveler, the Paper Merchant, Gratto Italian Tappas, Just in Time Deli, Geneva Illinois Post Office, Subway, etc. Please arrange your destination with the driving RC. Students are not allowed to walk here from campus.
Downtown Naperville: This other historic town, roughly 30 minutes east of Aurora contains historic Naper Settlement, the Naperville Riverwalk, the Nichols Library, North Central College and numerous chains and small businesses. An incomplete highlight include: Red Mango Frozen Yogurt, Five Guys, Chipotle, the Apple Store, Cookie Dough Creations, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, Flat Top, etc. Please arrange your destination with the driving RC. Students are not allowed to walk here from campus.
ATC (Aurora Transportation Center): Weekly shuttles on Friday (4:20p, 5:40p), Saturday (11:45a, 5:40pm), Sunday (pick up at 7:47pm). All riders MUST inform the 1501 Office of your intent to travel on the shuttle at least 10 minutes prior. Note that students must have parent permission or approval to take this shuttle and must sign out beforehand. The ATC is the end of the line for Metra BNSF Line. * Students with parent permission may also take public transportation (PACE) or a taxi to the ATC. Please notify the 07 Office beforehand if this is desired.
* The ATC Shuttle will pick up north of 1501, near the walkway. At the ATC, the shuttle will stop directly outside the main doors near the taxi stand. Pick up, look for an IMSA minibus/van.
