Runnymede Collegiate Institute is the proud home of Runnymede Robotics, better known as Team 1310 in the FIRST® Robotics world. Located in Toronto (Canada), Team 1310 started in 2004, and since its formation, has provided a positive and safe environment for students, leaders and mentors to work and grow together.
Runnymede CI is home to many innovative programs including the STEM@Runn Program. Runnymede CI is proud to offer unique opportunities for students to achieve and excel.
Each January, FIRST® sets out the engineering challenge and we come together to design, build and program our robot for the competition season that starts in March. January to April is an intense period for Team 1310, but this engineering challenge provides team members with new friendships, a sense of belonging, and pride in our collective accomplishments.

A season can cost as much as $95,000. Here is a basic breakdown of our costs and where our money goes towards:
Transportation/ Lodging $45,000
Parts/ Supplies $27, 000
Registration Fees $18,000
Outreach $5,000
Fundraising is a big part of robotics, and we need it to be able to attend competitions. We encourage our team members to donate and raise money for our competitions because
it helps us reach our goal, but it also teaches our team financial literacy and budgeting.

In-Kind Donations
In-kind donations are also appreciated. If you’re a local restaurant and want to provide a meal to team members one night after school or on a Saturday during the months of January, February and March, we would be most grateful. Please contact us on our socials to choose a date when you can feed a hungry bunch of teenagers!
In addition to team lunches or dinners, we are also grateful to receive donations of products/building materials/ services.
