UPDATES ON 11 PLUS EXAMS
LATEST UPDATE (10/08/20) ON THE 11 PLUS CSSE EXAMS HERE
The CSSE exam board have asked the Department for Education if they can have their tests delayed to the 7th and 9th of November this year.
Due to this we will offer an additional 1 Plus mock exams for southend and Chelmsford around the end of October for the CSSE. We currently do not have any information on any delays for the CEM exams but as soon as we do we will let you know

The Department for Education yesterday (24th July 2020) announced that 11+ exams should still go ahead but delayed to at least the end of October or November. You can find more details by clicking on the link below.

Our last 11+ mock exam for Southend (CSSE) and Chelmsford (CEM) was going to be held on the 5th September 2020 but if there is interest for an October date (probably 3rd or 4th) please let me know.

What we won't know is how well your child might do, take some of that uncertainty away by booking a place on one of my 11 Plus mock exams for Southend and Chelmsford students.

All my 11 Plus mock Exams Southend CSSE and Chelmsford CEM are now being held online.
As they are now online we can accept students from any part of the UK who are doing the CSSE or CEM paper.
There will only be two main differences to the mocks.
1. They will be held online via a Zoom meeting (link will be provided).
2. Exam papers will be sent out and marked private. I ask all parents to make sure their child does not see the exam papers until just before the start of the exams.
Apart from the above the 11 plus mocks exams for Southend Chelmsford are exactly the same as before.
Myself and another invigilator will be monitoring all the students online while they take the test to make sure they are held under strict exam like conditions.
Test papers can either be emailed or posted back to me for marking. You will also be provided with a repot which includes raw scores and percentages.
The advantages of booking your child an 11+ mock exam for Southend or Chelmsford are as follows:
1. Eliminates pre exam jitters.
2. Improves test scores.
3. Gain better exam experience and technique.
4. Highlights areas of study which need to be done more of.
5. None of my papers are past papers.
6. Papers are created by a retired examiner and myself.
7. 5 CSSES and 3 CEM exam papers to choose from.
How often have you worried about an exam or worried about a meeting in the past? Even if you think you have prepared for it you still feel nervous and sometimes those nerves carry on at the start of the exam or the meeting and can hamper your performance. But it was never as bad as you thought it was going to be was it? If you are prepared nothing turns out to be as bad as you thought it would be would it?
Now with exams we can do all the revision and all the past papers but doing a mock exam is the closest way to emulate and practice for the real 11+. Not only will it help you with what you need to revise better but it will help you revise better. It will help you overcome many of those pre exam jitters. Lastly it helps with exam technique too because so many marks are lost because we are unfamiliar with the way questions are worded in an exam and we feel so under pressure we spend either too much time or too little time on a particular question.
Most tutors hold mock exams using past papers and there is nothing wrong with that but the trouble is many students have already done the past papers so it takes away some of the realism that should be in a mock exam. I want my students to get all that anxiety out of their system; boost their confidence and strengthen the areas they are weaker on before they take the real exams.
I have 5 CSSEs and 3 CEM exam papers to choose from and if the rumours are true the exams might be held in November instead of September giving your child plenty of time to take as many as you think is beneficial.
8 mock exams are available to choose from, 5 are CSSE papers and 3 are CEM papers:
