The methodology for this study compares the trade policies of the United States and China using a methodical and structured approach to guarantee thorough and accurate analysis. The research techniques, information sources, and analytical frameworks used to examine the parallels, discrepancies, and ramifications of the trade policies put in place by these two superpowers are described in this part.
This study analyses the trade policies of China and the United States using both qualitative and quantitative methods. A comprehensive comprehension of policy frameworks, past patterns, and their effects on economic indicators is made possible by a mixed-methods approach. The comparative perspective draws attention to the parallels, discrepancies, and consequences of each nation's trade policy.
A mix of primary and secondary sources provided the data for this investigation. The sources of primary data included official government papers, policy documents, and trade agreements, including those released by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative Office. Trade analysis reports, peer-reviewed research articles, and reliable databases like the World Bank, WTO, and macroeconomic platforms were examples of secondary data. To maintain accuracy and consistency, trade indicators such as export controls, tariff rates, non-tariff barriers, and trade balances were gathered in a methodical manner for the years 2014–2022.
Descriptive statistics and trend analysis were used to examine quantitative data in order to find trends, abnormalities, and changes in trade policy over time. Thematic analysis of qualitative data was used to glean information on economic results, geopolitical ramifications, and policy goals. For demonstrating the main distinctions and parallels between Chinese and American trade policies as well as their wider effects on industries, stakeholders, and economic statistics like GDP and employment, a comparative method was used.
The study maintains the confidentiality of intellectual property and complies with ethical research guidelines, guaranteeing the reliability and openness of data sources. The data was interpreted objectively to prevent prejudice in comparative evaluations, and all references were properly mentioned.
Through the integration of these analytical approaches, the study seeks to provide a thorough analysis of China's and the United States' trade policies, advancing a nuanced knowledge of their respective contributions to the dynamics of global trade.
