Student Safeguarding

PURPOSE

SIS: RVi Academy Yangon is committed to student safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children.

We endorse the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, of which both Singapore and Myanmar are signatories and expect that those working within and connected to our community share this commitment to:

• protect each child’s right to be safe

• ensure that all adults share responsibility to safeguard and protect children

• prevent and report abuse, neglect and harassment

RESPONSIBILITY

All stakeholders at SIS: RVi Academy Yangon must protect children from and report suspected incidences of child abuse or neglect. Reporting and follow up of all suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect will proceed in accordance with administrative regulations. Furthermore, cases of suspected child abuse or neglect may be reported to the appropriate agencies.

RECRUITMENT PRACTICES

Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection (ITFCP), we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

At SIS: RVi Academy Yangon, we address child protection in our curriculum and provide information to parents and students regarding the school’s Child Protection policies and prevention strategies.

We are also committed to providing training for all faculty and staff in Child Protection.
