Amazing how fast this quarter went! If that is an indication of how fast this year is going to go, everybody hang on tight so you don't get left behind!
Siren Schools' FCCLA and NHS under the leadership of Whitney Krogstad-Yambrick and Carly Good celebrated Pink Week last week. The High School students were encouraged to wear pink every day and there were activities during lunch. There were other activities throughout the week as well. They raised money to support breast cancer research throughout the week. I challenged them to raise more than $1,200 and agreed to color my hair pink if they did. Well..... Friday my hair will turn pink. Some people have asked me why I agreed to do it. Simple. I have four cousins who have battled the disease; three of them are still with us. Cancer sucks. Other loved ones and friends have been diagnosed with cancer, some have beaten it, some sadly have passed as a result of the disease. My hair color is a small price to pay to support research to end this disease.
