based on their needs and interests. Parental input inspired the need
for this course. The typical curriculum includes knowledge of budgeting, auto, Insurance, credit cards, personal safety, job search, college preparation, consumer management, apartment search/leasing, interview skills, mental health, and mortgages and housing.
Classroom Rules and Expectations:
1. Be respectful. – Please be respectful of the teacher and other students. 2. Always do your personal best. – I believe you are here to learn; therefore, please try your personal best and be willing to try something new. 3. Be organized and prepared when entering the classroom. – We only have 45 minutes each day together. This time will go fast; we will need every second of it, especially on workdays. Set yourself up for success by being prepared when entering the classroom. 4. Cell phones must be placed in the pocket chart at the back of the room.
How will I be graded? You will be expected to turn assignments in on time. If an assignment is late I will put a 0 in the grade book until it is turned in. If an assignment is more than one week, it will be a permanent zero, unless you come and speak with me and I grant you an extension. You will not be given full points for a late assignment. If you are absent please scan the QR code in the classroom so I can get your missing assignment.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM: I will be using Google Classroom to assign and collect homework. If you are not in attendance, you will be expected to do your homework that is posted. Please check the "Absent" storage container and Google Classroom to find the worksheets or assignments you missed. You will be responsible for communicating with me if there are questions or concerns. If you are missing, I expect you to reach out about any work you miss.
*Parents, your input is valuable. You may be asked to share your insights from time to time. Your participation will enrich everyone's learning experience. Please let me know if you have a topic you would like your child to learn more about.
