Be organized and prepared when entering the classroom. – We only have 45 minutes each day together. This time will go fast; we will need every second of it, especially on workdays. Set yourself up for success by being prepared when entering the classroom. 4. Cell phones must be placed in the phone caddy.
How will I be graded? You will be expected to turn assignments in on time. If an assignment is late I will put a 0 in the grade book until it is turned in. If an assignment is more than one week, it will be a permanent zero, unless you come and speak with me and I grant you an extension. You will not be given full points for a late assignment.
"Real Care" Doll: During the course of this semester you will have the opportunity to experience parenting using a simulated baby doll. You will be responsible for completing a permission slip and checking out the baby for 2 consecutive nights or 1 weekend. You will be given a grade based on your performance of meeting the baby's needs.
Field Trip: We have been fortunate to take the Child Development class at the Spencer Hospital to tour the maternity ward and ask questions about labor, delivery, and careers. This will be scheduled sometime during the middle of the semester.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM: I will be using Google Classroom to assign and collect homework. If you are not in attendance, you will be expected to do your homework that is posted. If you are absent please scan the QR code in the classroom so I can get your missing assignment.
*Parents, your input is valuable. You may be asked to share your insights on parenting, labor and delivery, or observations from time to time. Your participation will enrich the learning experience for everyone.
