Summer Learning Academy
Simsbury Public Schools is offering a program for ten days to provide students with instruction to accelerate growth toward grade-level standards in reading and math. Hours of the program are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. The Summer Learning Academy will include various camp components with games and other fun activities. There will also be an emphasis on social development and fun with peers.
The Summer Learning Academy is taught by certified Simsbury Public School teachers who will provide regular opportunities for explicit, direct instruction in both whole class and small-group settings. The program goals include:
Targeting skill recovery in Literacy and Math
Providing opportunities for social development and peer connections
Actively engaging students in their learning through meaningful and enjoyable experiences

Kim Aeschliman is a third grade teacher at Central School. This is her sixth year directing the Summer Learning Academy. Prior to joining this summer program, she spent over a decade as the Program Director at a traditional day camp in Torrington. She enjoys playing games, singing songs, and dressing up for theme days!
The Summer Learning Academy operates out of Tootin Hills School. The address is 25 Nimrod Road, West Simsbury, CT.
