Art 1 & Art 1A

Art 1 is a year-long foundation course that provides you with a sampling of all art courses taught at SHS. Each unit of study is designed to introduce you to contemporary artists and allows for experimentation with a variety of media and studio processes. In Art 1 you will experience personal and collaborative art making in a safe studio setting while deepening your understanding of the visual arts in relation to history, cultures, and other disciplines. My hope for you in this course is that you make connections, take risks, problem solve, explore, persist, reflect, learn from each other, and most of all enjoy making art.
