Missing Work - A grade of 0 will be entered in the grading portal to indicate an assignment is missing. The 0 grade will be changed once the student turns in the missing assignment. Late work will receive a late work grade no higher than 60%. If the assignment is not turned in, the 0 will stay for that assignment. If there are any difficulties in completing missing work, students are advised to come for extra help.
Improving a Grade -
Students will be given the opportunity to retake ONE interim skill assessment per unit of study prior to the completion of that unit IF that assessment grade is below 70%. The new assessment will be averaged with the original assessment.
Students will be given the opportunity to complete credit recovery for ONE interim character quiz or vocabulary quiz per unit of study prior to the completion of that unit IF that assessment grade is below 68%. Credit recovery will carry a maximum high grade of 68%.
Retakes and Credit Recovery are a privilege, and will not be offered to students who did not complete work in preparation for the assessment. Students wishing to take advantage of this opportunity should see me and review material not understood or complete additional practice before re-taking the assessment.
