In the event SCS dismisses early for any reason, our students will follow their normal transportation procedures, UNLESS, a note was sent in by the parent/guardian that day. Simpson Elementary WILL NOT accept changes over the phone or by text message to faculty. If a student needs to have a change made, the parent/guardian will have to come to Simpson to make that change. We realize the inconvenience this may cause for some but it is the most safe and effective way to ensure our students are taken care of.

SES STLP Techno-Reading Explosion Launch Day!
Today our SES STLP students officially launched their Techno-Reading Explosion, a collection of projects designed to bring technology and reading together in an exciting new way! Over the next three weeks, students will release one chapter of our story (based on our school theme) along with a comprehension quiz each week through our Schoology course.
Students will also have the chance to create 3-D renditions of the chapter’s setting and characters — bringing the story to life in hands-on, creative ways!
We are so proud of the hard work our students have put into preparing for this launch. Thank you, teachers, for the lovely snapshots and for helping our kids stay excited for reading!

I am looking for people to come and share information about their jobs during career day. Career Day at SES will be on FRIDAY, MARCH 20th during special area time. You would be speaking to 5-6 groups of students for about 8 minutes (we will be in the gym and the students will rotate to each group). The Dinner Table Project was created with the basic idea that families that eat together have better relationships. If children have better relationships with their parents and siblings, they are less likely to try drugs and alcohol. Children of families that share meals together also have better academic performance, higher self-esteem, a greater sense of resilience, lower risk of teen pregnancy, lower risk of depression, lower rates of obesity, and a lower likelihood of developing an eating disorder. We encourage families to eat together at least once a week with no electronics.

NTI Day allows Simpson County Schools to provide non-traditional instruction on days when students are not able to attend school due to inclement weather or illness.
Teachers will be contacting students on NTI days to monitor progress and offer assistance. For students who need help in completing the NTI work, teachers will be available from 8:00-3:00.
Simpson County Schools will notify you when NTI days are going to be used for closure. Parents and guardians will be notified by radio, tv and social media, and Apptegy Call system. For this school year, NTI packets will be provided to each student.
Students should return their paper copies of work to school .
If a student is unable to complete the lesson packet prior to returning to school, he/she will be provided assistance at school to complete the work. All NTI Day work will be due within 7 days upon their return to school.
Simpson Elementary would like to thank Dairy Queen for their donation of coupons to our students! Our students who recieve a postive behavior referal will be given a coupon for Dairy Queen to celebrate!
