What is an NTI Day?

An NTI Day allows Simpson  County Schools to provide non-traditional instruction on days when students are not able to attend school due to inclement weather or illness.   On the designated NTI Days, students will have assignments that provide continuation of learning. Depending on the student’s grade level, the assignments may contain lessons from reading/english, mathematics, social studies, and science along with other cross-curricular lessons and opportunities.

What are teachers and administrators doing on NTI Days?

Teachers and Administrators will be working on instructional programming and easily accessible via telephone, email, Google Meet, or other teacher-designated means.   Teachers will be contacting students on NTI days to monitor progress and offer assistance.  For students who need help in completing the NTI work, teachers will be available from 8:00-3:00.  

Will every missed school day  be treated as an NTI Day?

Simpson  County Schools has been approved to use NTI Days during the school year.  Simpson County Schools will notify you when NTI days are going to be used for closure.  Parents and guardians will be notified by radio, tv and social media, and Apptegy Call system.  For this school year,  NTI packets will be provided to each student K-8.

When should student work be submitted?

Students should return their paper copies of work to school .

If a student is unable to complete the lesson packet prior to returning to school, he/she will be provided assistance at school to complete the work.  All NTI Day work will be due within 7 days upon their return to school.
